External Transmission

Midnight Tracer ("the Service") may transmit information from your device to the following external providers in order to display and provide the Service. In line with the external-transmission rules of Japan's Telecommunications Business Act (Art. 27-12), we disclose the information transmitted, the recipient, and the purpose for each.

1. Maps (Google Maps Platform)

Information: IP address, device/OS information, a Google Maps SDK identifier, map interaction data, crash information, etc. If you use current-location display or recenter, the map viewport and interaction data may reflect your current or nearby region. That display action alone does not store your current location on the Service operator's servers; if you explicitly submit that map position as a haunted spot, an approximate regional cell is separately stored through the backend described below.

Purpose: rendering the map and location-related features, quality improvement, abuse prevention

2. Backend (Supabase)

Information: device identifier (device_id), your posts/comments/nickname and other input, the approximate regional-cell coordinates of submitted haunted spots, authentication data
Recipient: Supabase, Inc. (United States)
Purpose: providing the Service, anonymous account authentication/management, data storage

3. Media storage/delivery & bot protection (Cloudflare)

Information: uploaded images/videos, device/browser signals, access logs
Recipient: Cloudflare, Inc. (United States and other regions)
Purpose: storing/delivering media, anti-bot (automated signup) checks, security

4. Error diagnostics (Sentry — only when enabled)

Information: device/OS information, error/crash logs, app state
Recipient: Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry, United States)
Purpose: diagnosing defects and improving quality (no direct contact identifiers)

Note: transmission occurs only if this feature is enabled by configuration.

5. AI model downloads (Hugging Face)

Information: IP address, model-file request data, access logs, and device/network information
Recipient: Hugging Face, Inc. (United States)
Purpose: downloading AI model files that run on-device

Note: photos and analysis content are not transmitted.

6. Information necessary to provide the Service (out of scope)

Information that is genuinely necessary to display and provide the Service (user authentication, fraud prevention, system operation/maintenance, etc.) may fall outside the disclosure scope of the external-transmission rules.

7. Server-side content review and operational alerts (not device-side transmission)

Uploaded images/videos are automatically screened before publication (detection of explicit sexual content, etc., via Google Cloud Vision / Video Intelligence). This processing occurs via our servers to Google — not from your device — so it is not a direct subject of the external-transmission rules. Operational alerts also send limited serious-report metadata to GitHub and Resend from our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
